Business & Employers

Knowing as we do that employment is a goal for many of the people we support, we believe working in partnership with businesses can be a powerful force for good for everyone.

There has never been a better time for employers to adopt more inclusive recruitment practices which benefit both businesses and the community.

The employment, volunteering and mentoring opportunities provided by our forward-thinking corporate partners are a vital support for our service users - equally, our candidates bring qualities of determination, loyalty and commitment to any opportunity you can give them.

Businesses and Employers

At Double Impact, we believe in the importance of strong, mutually beneficial relationships between our service users and the community.

Drug and alcohol addiction can happen to anyone, but the support of the community can make a huge difference to the success of recovery services and reintegration. In return, every step away from dependency offers an enormous opportunity for individuals to have a positive impact on their community.

We run several specialist employment programmes and work in close partnership with local businesses to provide bespoke training and employment opportunities to individuals established in recovery.

Here, Jess Barnett from Nottingham-based business, The Treat Kitchen, discusses our partnership to provide a work placement scheme, a programme which has been of great benefit to both partners and which won an award in the East Midlands Charity Awards 2020. Testimonials
What employers had to say about their involvement with Double Impact

With the volume of collaboration we do with Café Sobar it seemed only natural to partner with Double Impact in this way. Offering placements within different parts of our business is a great way to support them. It’s brought loads of benefits to the business, for example we found that several of the volunteers became good candidates for paid positions, being motivated, familiar with the work and already invested in the company – I would thoroughly recommend working with Double Impact.

Jess Barnett, owner of The Treat Kitchen

I did have some initial reservations but after speaking to Izzy and then meeting Matt a few times on a one to one basis I had no concerns about bringing Matt into the business. Izzy was very supportive and as the early meetings were between the three of us I could gauge that Matt was going to be no trouble at all and really wanted to learn about the photography industry. Izzy was bright, friendly and really positive. When you are dealing with someone with those qualities it makes it very easy to say yes to a request. Matching the right candidate to the company obviously helps and Matt was an easy sell. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Tom Miller – Operations Manager, Press Association

Working with Double Impact has been a great experience. Everyone is so passionate about what they do and the support they give their clients is fantastic. We have supported them by employing a client as part of their recovery programme and he has turned out to be one of our best employees. We will continue to support Double Impact by offering further placements and in their fundraising efforts.
