The Nottingham Recovery Network comprises of Framework Housing Association, Double Impact and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The service is publicly funded and has been established to support people who misuse drugs and alcohol. We provide a single point of advice, support and treatment for anyone in Nottingham City who wishes to change their relationship with alcohol or drugs.
Recovery Connectors – Nottingham Recovery Network

Salary: £8571 based on 13.5 hours per week (£23,492 Full Time Equivalent)
Double Impact is a registered charity and not for profit organisation, established in 1998. We believe that with the right support everybody can recover and that in recovery anything is possible.
We are looking for Recovery Connectors to join the team within a number of different pathways. To be eligible for this role you must be in long-term Recovery and be passionate about supporting others to achieve abstinence and sustainable change for the future.
You will understand the road to successful long-term recovery from drug or alcohol use and the challenges faced in the journey to get you there.
You will understand because you will have been through it yourself, visible proof that with the right support and help, sustained long term recovery is possible.
You will work closely with team managers, team leaders, colleagues and peer mentors, supporting service users to take the recovery journey, building their recovery capital and helping them to navigate their treatment journeys, with the aim that service users are enabled to successfully complete treatment and sustain long term recovery.
You will help us to build a culture of individual aspiration, spreading the messages amongst service users that recovery is worth aspiring to, motivating others starting on their journey by seeing the progress made by their peers.
The Recovery Connector post will provide the opportunity to build, develop skills and knowledge of working in the substance use field, while actively championing recovery, using your own skills and experiences to bring added value to the role.
Candidates will have ideally completed the DI Mentoring Training, be reliable and have basic IT Skills and familiarity with basic IT packages. Successful candidate will uphold the values of Double Impact at all times, championing recovery and possibility thinking – a true motivator
to other service users.

Pathways:
The Academy
The Academy aim to support individual and collective recovery through learning, training, mentoring and volunteering, within a welcoming and supportive environment. The Academy is a recovery community where everyone can feel like they belong. It is a space
for people in recovery to connect with others who have lived through similar experiences. It can also provide space for people to address their substance misuse and offending behaviour and reduce reoffending through connecting with others in recovery. A really important part of what the Academy offers is Peer Support, which this role is integral to. Recovery Connectors provide one to one mentoring support to clients to help them navigate
their own recovery pathway. They can help orientate new clients within the service, welcome and induct new clients, establish supportive non-judgmental relationships with clients to help them achieve their recovery milestones and goals, help facilitate access to mutual aid and education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities and signpost and/or refer to a range of treatment/community support agencies. Recovery Connectors are visible examples of recovery and are available to provide support
and guidance, as needed, and promote the fact that recovery is real and is possible.
Hospital Liaison
Drug & Alcohol Liaison Team (DALT) see patients who present to Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) and require substance use specific support/ treatment whilst being treated for their primary complaint. Our aim is to prescribe medically assisted withdrawal meds for those dependent to Alcohol and Opioid Substitute Therapy to those who are Opiate dependent. Once stable and safe our aim is to engage/ refer them with community substance use teams. Recovery connectors will help connect/ support around discharge planning, wrap around support and referral into treatment services
Community Access and Engagement (Triage)
The Triage Team are the first port of call for individuals looking to access drug and/or alcohol treatment services in the City Boundary. Recovery Connectors will be expected to support Practitioners within the Triage team at Health Promotion events, raising the profile of our presence in the local community, including provision of our regular community and pop-up clinics.
You will support us in breaking barriers, stigmas and misconceptions about treatment by visiting venues such as Hostels, Foodbanks, community groups and speaking with service users with an aim of promoting and increasing people’s confidence and motivation to
access support.
