“I decided to start joining face to face meetings and found them very helpful. The journey to my recovery had started…”
Life for me before Double impact was me going round in circles trying to sort my drug and alcohol addictions out on my own and always ending back where I started from. I realised i needed support to help me move forward on my recovery journey. I contacted WAWY who referred me to Double impact. After speaking to a support worker from Double Impact, who informed me about support groups and zoom meetings, I decided to start joining face to face meetings and found them very helpful. The journey to my recovery had started.
I was learning how to use the tools they showed me and change my active thinking ways. My confidence was getting stronger and I had the support to help me make better life decisions. The one to one sessions with my keyworker was helping and by having the support I was able to set small realistic goals that was achievable. For the first time I wasn’t going round in circles. I was progressing and making a better start into getting my addictions under control and maintaining them.
Double Impact provides a safe place with other people who don’t judge and are willing to share their struggles with others in aid of hoping to help others with their struggles and obstacles that may arise along the recovery journey.
